Terms of Service
Last updated: May 11, 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account, accessing, or using Tika Finance ("Tika", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Tika provides personal finance software for organizing accounts, importing statements, reviewing transactions, tracking budgets, debts, goals, and reports, and managing Free or Paid subscription access.
2. Eligibility and Account
You must be able to form a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate account information.
- Keeping your password, two-factor authentication device, recovery codes, and account sessions secure.
- All activity under your account, including uploaded files, saved account settings, shared-account access, and support requests.
- Promptly notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may only upload statements, save PDF passwords, create financial records, or invite collaborators for accounts and data you are authorized to use.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Tika or help anyone else misuse it. This includes:
- Attempting unauthorized access to accounts, admin areas, APIs, files, infrastructure, or another user's data.
- Uploading malware, unlawful content, or files you do not have permission to process.
- Circumventing rate limits, billing limits, feature gates, parser restrictions, or security controls.
- Interfering with service availability, queues, realtime systems, backups, or monitoring.
- Using Tika to violate law, commit fraud, harass others, or infringe rights.
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or automated extraction except where allowed by law or written permission.
4. Financial Disclaimer
Tika is personal finance software. It is not a bank, accountant, tax adviser, legal adviser, broker, investment adviser, credit counselor, or financial planner.
Reports, budgets, categories, import results, balances, debt schedules, loan calculations, goals, and insights are informational tools only. They may be incomplete, delayed, duplicated, misclassified, or incorrect because of user input, statement format changes, parser limitations, timezone/currency differences, pending transactions, or third-party data issues.
You are responsible for reviewing imported transactions, correcting classifications, validating balances, and making your own financial, tax, legal, investment, lending, and spending decisions. Do not rely on Tika as the only source for filing taxes, making payments, investing, borrowing, or complying with legal obligations.
5. Statement Imports, PDF Passwords, And User Data
Tika can process CSV and supported PDF statement formats. Bank formats change, and parser results can require manual review. You agree that:
- You are authorized to upload each statement and provide any password used to process it.
- Saved account-level PDF passwords are used only to unlock statement files for import workflows and are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Imported data should be reviewed before it is used for reports, budgets, debts, loans, tax records, or financial decisions.
- You are responsible for maintaining independent copies of bank records and official statements.
You retain ownership of the data you upload or enter. You grant Tika the limited rights needed to host, process, back up, secure, analyze, display, export, and delete that data as required to operate the service and fulfill your requests.
6. Plans, Billing, And Stripe
Tika offers Free and Paid plans. Free and Paid capabilities, limits, and availability may change as the product evolves.
Paid subscriptions use Stripe-hosted Checkout and Stripe Customer Portal when active Stripe prices are configured. Stripe collects and processes payment details directly. Tika stores subscription status, Stripe IDs, billing timestamps, and non-sensitive payment method display metadata such as brand, last four digits, funding type, and expiry. Tika does not store raw card numbers, CVCs, or bank credentials.
Checkout, invoices, and the billing portal show the applicable price, currency, billing interval, renewal, tax, cancellation, and payment details. You are responsible for reviewing those details before confirming payment.
Unless stated otherwise at checkout or required by law, subscription fees cover the billing period purchased and are not automatically refunded because you did not use the service. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact support so we can review it.
Manual Paid activation, local subscription overrides, promotional access, or support adjustments may be used as fallback or support tools. These local changes do not replace your responsibility to manage any active Stripe subscription through the Customer Portal or support-confirmed Stripe cancellation flow.
7. Exports, Deletion, And Account Closure
Tika provides data export and account deletion workflows as described in the Privacy Policy. Deletion removes user-owned records, private files, parser consent samples, saved PDF passwords, generated exports, and active tokens where technically and legally applicable. If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion from the public web page at https://tika.finance/account-deletion.
Some records may be retained when needed for security, billing, accounting, tax, legal, audit, fraud prevention, backup rotation, or dispute-resolution purposes. Account closure does not automatically cancel obligations already incurred, including unpaid fees or active subscriptions unless they are cancelled through the applicable billing workflow.
8. Availability
We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Features may be unavailable, delayed, limited, or changed because of maintenance, incidents, third-party providers, parser changes, billing providers, security controls, or infrastructure conditions.
9. Third-Party Services
Tika may rely on third-party services for hosting, storage, email, notifications, support, logging, analytics, and billing. Stripe's own terms and privacy notices apply to Stripe-hosted payment experiences. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, but we choose providers needed to deliver and protect Tika.
10. Intellectual Property
The service, brand, interfaces, documentation, design, software, and product materials are owned by Tika or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights except the limited right to use Tika according to these Terms.
11. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk for other users, abused support or billing systems, attempted unauthorized access, uploaded harmful files, or used Tika unlawfully.
You may stop using Tika at any time. You remain responsible for exporting data you need and managing active subscriptions before closing your account.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Tika is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, business interruption, financial loss, or decisions made using Tika outputs.
Tika's total liability for claims related to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to Tika for the service in the three months before the claim or USD 50, unless the law requires a different limit.
13. Changes To The Service Or Terms
We may update the service and these Terms as Tika evolves, including changes related to features, billing, processors, legal requirements, or launch configuration. We will update the date above and, when appropriate, provide notice in the product or by email.
Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
